Anne Richards | Lifeline WA Ambassador
Anne Richards was born and raised in Perth, her background is in education and communications, having taught in both Australia and South Africa. Anne has always had a strong interest and love for sport and has represented her State, Australia and South Africa in squash. Anne’s passion over the last twelve years has been in Suicide Prevention and the Mental Health area. Anne lost her eldest son to suicide and is strongly committed to reducing stigma and breaking down the barriers surrounding suicide and mental health issues. Anne was a member of the Ministerial Council for Suicide Prevention in WA and she was on the Mental Health Commission’s Steering Committee developing WA’s Suicide Prevention Action Plan. Anne speaks publicly in many different forums, sharing her experiences and opening doors of communication to help make change, raise awareness and ease the paths of those dealing with mental health issues.
