Brad Sheppard | Lifeline WA Ambassador
Brad Sheppard is a local AFL hero who retired from football while still a top-line defender after ongoing concussion symptoms forced a premature end to his 216-game career. The former West Coast Eagles player hopes that talking about the importance of positive mental health will help encourage people to reach out for help when they need it. He has spoken openly about the health challenges he faced during his career and how times of career transition can often be times of struggle. Brad, who lost a close friend to suicide, has travelled to Exmouth in his role as Lifeline WA ambassador to meet with local people and school students to talk about the importance of positive mental health. By getting involved with Lifeline WA, Brad is keen to help break down stigmas around mental health and encourage people to reach out for help when they need it.
